- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'svchost' = '%APPDATA%\usercache\svchost.exe'
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- '%APPDATA%\usercache\svchost.exe'
- '%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\update.exe' (downloaded from the Internet)
Executes the following:
- '%APPDATA%\usercache\svchost.exe'
- '%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\update.exe'
Injects code into
the following user processes:
- svchost.exe
Modifies file system:
Creates the following files:
- %APPDATA%\usercache\svchost.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\<INETFILES>\Content.IE5\U98D4X8H\settings[1].htm
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\update.exe
- %APPDATA%\bootstrap
Deletes the following files:
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\update.exe
Deletes itself.
